DeAnna Miller is a hometown champion of James Island, with over 20 years living, working, volunteering, and raising her family in Charleston.
Her campaign isn’t run by political ambition—it’s led by love for this special place and a commitment to preserving it.
She is grounded in four guiding principles: Preservationof our marshlands, oak canopies, and historic neighborhoods;Preventionthrough proactive infrastructure, flood control, and smart zoning;Progressthat upgrades roads, pedestrian safety, and community resources while retaining neighborhood character; andPeople‑First Leadership, with listening, presence, and follow‑through put before power.
From chairing the James Island Charter High School Discipline Committee to coordinating youth fencing and soccer programs, and advocating against short-sighted development, DeAnna has proven her leadership across community and environmental causes.
Professionally, she brings nearly two decades of creative and strategic expertise—as Managing Director at 82 South and former Director of Creative Services at Fox 24—and holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the College of Charleston.
