The Nashville Basketball Initiative is an independent effort—completely separate from Vanderbilt University—built to directly support Vanderbilt Basketball in the NIL era. Founded in 2023 and launched publicly in 2025, we’re here to fill a critical gap: ensuring that our basketball programs have the resources they need to compete at the highest level. Unlike other giving avenues, dollars generated through NBI are directed towards Vanderbilt Basketball.
Led by four-time NBA Champion Will Perdue, we’re building a flexible, community-driven movement that aligns fans, alumni, and local businesses around one shared goal: winning. We follow all NCAA and state rules, operate outside university oversight, and stay agile to meet the fast-moving demands of today’s college basketball landscape.
