State Representative Tara Shephard is running to be the next State Senator for District 15, a district that covers a large swath of southwest Little Rock and Pulaski County.
During her first term, Rep. Shephard made Arkansas history when legislation she passed in the State House became model legislation for the United States Congress. That bill — now Act 811 — mandates life-saving overdose reversal kits be placed on every state-supported high school and college campus. It has been one of the most effective pieces of legisation ever passed to help curb preventable deaths in our state.
In her second term, Representative Shephard continued her commitment to uplifting Arkansas families as a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 59, now known as Act 123. This important legislation ensures that every child in Arkansas has access to a free breakfast at the beginnig of each school day— removing a critical barrier to learning and well-being.
As the daughter of a three-tour war veteran, who served in Afghanistan, Desert Storm and Iraq, Representative Shephard carries a deep, personal commitment to advocating for those who serve and the families who stand behind them.
