Robert and I met when our boys were in kindergarten together at Lakewood Elementary. Our families have grown close over the last 7 years from time spent together coaching our boys' baseball teams, to camping on the Buffalo, to seeing the Royal's Opening Day together in Kansas City. We have seen each other through a couple of election cycles (both mine and his). I know Robert to be kind, compassionate, and measured - which is more than some of us can say when dealing with eleven 12 year old boys in a dugout. If given the opportunity to serve our community, I fully expect him to conduct his courtroom with the same kindness, temperament, and thoughtfulness that he conducts the other parts of his life.
